Here are a few of Leger’s Specialist Battlefield Guides who work alongside Paul Reed to ‘bring history to life’. Peter Smith Peter served in the RAF and then the Metropolitan Police, where he ran the Great War Society. He has been visiting battlefields for more than thirty years. Gary Ashley Gary has explored battlefields since 1974, including 100 Years War, Napoleonic, Crimea and Great War, also WWII, and is an avid collector of Militaria. He is also a re-enactor and lives in France. Norman Sibbald Norman is a former Engineering Manager. Now retired he can finally devote all his time to his life long passion for WWII history. Charlotte Czyzyk Charlotte first went to the battlefields with her grandfather, a D-Day veteran. She has worked for the Imperial War Museums since 2003, and has completed a History degree and Masters. Iain McHenry A former soldier, Iain served for many years in the Royal Military Police. His speciality is WW1 and he has worked on many archaeology projects including the tunnels at La Boisselle. Carl Shilleto Carl is an accomplished author and historian, having written several books on WWII. He has been guiding D-Day tours for Leger since 1999 and has interviewed hundreds of veterans. David McCormack David’s speciality is the Holocaust and the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. He also worked at the Manchester Regiment Museum and as a History Tutor. David Warren An authority in many fields of military history, David guides tours from the Peninsular War to WWII, with Dunkirk a speciality. He has appeared on several T.V. documentaries. Peter Williams After working in adult education, Peter began guiding for Leger more than 12 years ago. His speciality is WW1 and he has appeared in several T.V. documentaries. Bill McQuade Bill served in Berlin with the Royal Scots Greys and has frequently appeared on the Line of Fire T.V. series. He guides tours from the Peninsular War to the Cold War. Tony Carr Tony is a life-long collector of military memorabilia and owns his own WWII Jeep. He guides both WW1 and WWII tours. Vic Piuk Vic is a former journalist and author of a number of books about WW1. His speciality is WW1 War Poetry and he has appeared in several documentaries about the Great War. Fred Greenhow Fred served in the Royal Artillery for over 35 years and is a veteran of several operational tours. Fred joined Leger as a guide on his retirement from the Army. Marc Hope After service in the Army, Marc developed his passion for WW1 and WWII visiting battlefields for nearly twenty years before he joined Leger as a guide. Paul Errington A former soldier and Police Officer, Paul has been visiting WWII battlefields for many years. He has interviewed hundreds of veterans, including German veterans of the conflict. Keith Quibell Keith served as a Police Officer for thirty years and in the 1970s and 80s was privileged to take many WW1 veterans back to the battlefields. His speciality is WW1.
