B,D Days 3 to 5 For the next three days you can enjoy three magnificent excursions featuring beautiful nostalgic train journeys. 3xB,3xD Aviemore Steam railway & Spey Valley From Aviemore we take the Strathspey Steam Train for a ride through the spectacular Speyside mountains to Broomhill station which famously appeared as Glenbogle station in BBC’s Monarch of the Glen. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Grantown on Spey, a traditional town surrounded by ancient woodlands. Kyle line railway & the Isle of Skye We head to Inverness and board the train to travel west through mountains and lakes and alongside Loch Carron into the small port of Kyle of Lochalsh from where we travel by coach to Isle of Skye. After some free time, we return to our hotel through glorious Highland panoramas. Jacobite Steam railway & Wildlife cruise From Fort William, we travel aboard the Jacobite Steam Railway to Mallaig, absorbing beautiful views of lochs, mountains and the small Isles of Eigg, Muck and Rum. In Mallaig we include a one-hour cruise sailing towards the isles with regular sightings of whales, dolphins and sea eagles. Returning by coach, we stop off in Glenfinnan, with its viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter films, then continue to Banavie and the historic Neptune’s Staircase – a staircase lock built by Thomas Telford. Day 6 edinburgh To Edinburgh for free time to explore the maze of streets and admire the hill-top castle which towers over the city. Then continue to our overnight hotel near Glasgow.
