Day 2 Deauville, Trouville & Honfleur Today’s excursion takes us first to Deauville and Trouville, both favourite seaside resorts for the Parisians. We then continue to the quaint port town of Honfleur, painted many times by artists, including Claude Monet. B Day 3 St. Malo & Dinan Free day or take the chance to visit the fortified town of St. Malo, with its huge ramparts and city walls which you can walk around. Explore the old centre and the maze of narrow cobbled streets. We also visit the pretty medieval town of Dinan with its picturesque halftimbered medieval buildings. B Day 4 Rouen Enjoy our excursion to Rouen. See Notre Dame Cathedral with its splendid Butter Tower, immortalised in paintings by Claude Monet. Take a stroll to admire the famous Gros Horloge, a huge astronomical clock dating back to the 16th century, and in the centre of the Old Market Square stands the church of St. Joan of Arc, whose design represents the pyre on which Joan perished in 1431. Sep 16 Rhine Valley; Rhine Cruise; Rhine In Flames We begin our excursion through the beautiful Rhine Valley with a visit to Boppard, with its splendid Rhine Promenade. We continue to Rüdesheim, home of the vibrant Drosselgasse, lined with restaurants, bars and shops. Enjoy a river cruise on the Rhine as it meanders its way through its vine-clad gorge past fine medieval castles on the hillsides and the Loreley Rock. Tonight, we enjoy the highlight of our tour – the Rhine In Flames spectacle. A procession of boats cruise through the dramatic valley of the Loreley, from St. Goar to St. Goarshausen along one of the most breathtaking sections of the Rhine Gorge. The night sky is transformed into a sea of light, while spectacular fireworks ignite to music echoing between the steep cliffs. B Sep 17 Moselle Valley Enjoy our excursion to the charming wine town of Cochem, in the Moselle Valley. B Sep 18 Return home.
