We then continue to Pompeii where, in 79AD, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the town in a suffocating layer of stones and ash (admission is extra). B Day 5 Sorrento or Capri Visit the coastal town of Sorrento, one of the most popular resorts on the Neapolitan Riviera, where you can spend the day. Alternatively join our visit to the magical Isle of Capri and visit chic Capri Town with its quaint, cobbled streets and alleyways. Your place on the excursion to Capri can be reserved at the time of booking at a cost of £95pp. B Day 6 Rome with the Vatican City Another visit to Rome, giving you the chance to visit the Vatican City. Perhaps visit the Sistine Chapel to see the awe-inspiring frescoes, including Michelangelo’s famous chapel ceiling, (entrance not included). B Day 7 Castel Gandolfo & Frascati Today we offer an excursion to the small town of Castel Gandolfo, home of the Pope’s summer residence, overlooking Lake Albano. Here you can enjoy a stroll around the charming streets before we travel to the attractive, historic hill-town of Frascati, famous for its wine. Head for one of the town’s many ‘pergolato’ where you can sample some of the local produce. B Day 8 Free time before leaving for the overnight journey north. B Day 9 Return home.
