Day 1 Fly to Keflavik and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Day 2 the South coast & Waterfalls Join our guided excursion, as we travel through the south Iceland farming lands to the black sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanoes and majestic glaciers of the south coast. The first stop is at Skógarfoss, a picturesque waterfall which flows down the slopes of Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Later, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. Offshore you will see the famous Reynisdrangar – basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea. We round off this fantastic sightseeing tour with a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind this magnificent wall of water, right in the slopes of Eyjafjallajökull volcano. On a clear day there’s a fantastic view of this famous volcano, along with Hekla, one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes. You will also see the Westman Islands, rising steeply from the ocean just a few kilometres off the coast. B Day 3 Free time reykjavik Spend the day exploring the city independently. See some of the highlights, including the beautiful old town, the stunning cathedral, bustling harbour and the Saga Museum. Alternatively, head to the famous Blue Lagoon thermal spa on one of the regular transfers (at additional cost). B Day 4 Golden circle tour Join our guided excursion as we head from Reykjavik on the Golden Circle tour, which takes you via Nesjavellir geothermal field up to Þingvellir National Park. We are then treated to an up close and personal view of one of Iceland’s largest personalities: Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) – one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. Majestic and thunderous, the force and beauty of this two tiered waterfall is amazing. Next is Geysir Geothermal Field, home of the famous Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. The Strokkur hot spring erupts around every 5 minutes, making it one of the most active geysers. From Geysir area, the trip continues to Skálholt Church, which was the seat of religious power in Iceland for centuries. B Day 5 Travel to Keflavik airport for your return flight.
